Bachmann Class 158 DMU
"Central Trains"

00 Scale (1/76)
(Ref 31-516)

I have been working on converting my newly acquired Class 158 DMU to DCC
and was strugling over the front and rear LED lights wiring due to the circuit board being controled by 2 wires only.
Also the circuit board is not accessible and cannot be removed unless you break off the entire front of the car.

However, the following 2 articles were saying that connecting the (+) from the digital decoder to both sides of the circuit board does work:

https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/19724-lighting-on-bachmann-158/

So I decided to give it a try with a cheap LaisDCC decoder (in case it goes into smoke) and surprizingly it worked!

This is the rear (unpowered) car, so now I will work on the front one (locomotive) then will post some more pictures and videos.

Here it is, runing along with a Class 90 and MK3 Passenger cars "Virgin Trains".
